Youth Involvement
Through Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity, you have the opportunity to experience a new way to express your faith, work in partnership with a diverse group of people and make a positive difference in your own community.
You must be 16 or older to work on a Thrivent Builds construction site, and at least 18 years old to use power tools. (Note: Check with your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate to verify age limitations.) There are, however, many creative opportunities for you to get involved, even if you're not old enough to build. Following are some examples of what youth from schools, churches and youth-serving organizations can do in conjunction with Thrivent Builds.

Ways to Get Involved
- If you're over the age of 16, find a build location near you.
- Register volunteers at the construction site information table.
- Paint doors and baseboards off site before they are put into the house.
- Help clean a Thrivent Builds house before the dedication
- Build picnic or lunch tables for the work site.
- Tutor younger partner family children.
- Provide babysitting for children of homeowners or volunteers.
- Organize and serve meals to volunteer builders.
- Participate in the house dedication ceremony.
- Prepare and serve food for volunteers.
- Stock the kitchen pantry.
- If you're 18, consider going on a Thrivent Builds Worldwide trip. Have the adventure of a lifetime and make a difference in the lives of others and be changed in the process. The world is waiting for you.
