Habitat for Humanity has developed a process and expertise in this area and will lead the selection of families to participate in Thrivent Builds (Thrivent Financial will not be involved in the family selection process). Families in need of decent shelter apply to their local Habitat affiliate. The affiliate’s family selection committee chooses homeowners based on their level of need, their willingness to become partners in the program and their ability to repay the no-interest mortgage loan. Every affiliate follows a non-discriminatory policy of family selection. Neither race nor religion is a factor in choosing the families who receive Habitat homes.
