Repairing Homes

Repairing Homes: The Issue

Building new homes is one solution to the problems of substandard and poverty housing. But there are also existing homes across the country that simply need basic exterior improvements.

Homeowners want to stay in their homes, but they don’t have the resources or abilities to make the repairs themselves. They may be senior citizens, returning veterans, low-income single moms or others needing help.

Situations like these can leave homeowners with difficult decisions to make.  And they can potentially leave neighborhoods with houses that are eyesores.

It Doesn’t Have to Be This Way

Thrivent Builds Repairs is a program of Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity. It aligns and partners with Habitat for Humanity International’s community revitalization efforts.

The program provides Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members and other volunteers a way to complete simple one- or two-day projects to owner-occupied homes in local neighborhoods.

The program is simple, easy and flexible:

  • You can participate regardless of your skill level.
  • The program accommodates your busy schedule.

Thrivent Builds Repairs can make a visible impact in communities across the country – including yours.
