Team Leaders Needed - and Leaders' Trip Costs and Airfare Will be Covered!

The team leader is the core of a Thrivent Builds Worldwide El Salvador Community trip! Team leaders are supported with team member recruiting tools and are provided with thorough virtual training to help ensure a great trip experience. We understand the important role played by a Thrivent Builds Worldwide trip team leader. With that in mind, we have included into the cost of each trip the team leader's online training, trip cost and airfare, up to the average flight cost to San Salvador, El Salvador.

Trip Cost for a Ten Day Trip

Members $710 plus airfare to San Salvador, El Salvador If your team is led to donate additional funds to Habitat for Humanity El Salvador, here are simple and fun fundraising ideas. (PDF, 163K)
Non-members $1,050 plus airfare to San Salvador, El Salvador

Once you arrive in San Salvador, El Salvador you're taken care of! Your trip cost is all inclusive:

  • Travel between the airport in San Salvador and Santa Ana, and daily transportation to the build site.
  • Lodging at Hotel Sahara in Santa Ana.
  • Three meals a day, snacks and pure drinking water.
  • Cross-cultural activities throughout the week with Salvadorans, including tours, meals and other special opportunities.
  • Rewarding volunteer experience, with a well organized and expertly supervised build sites. (All tools and building materials provided on site).
  • Opportunities to reflect on your daily experiences through team meetings and journaling.
  • Thrivent Builds welcome kit, a welcome party and a farewell party.
  • One and a half days of rest and relaxation during the weekend on either a flower and coffee trail tour, visiting the colonial town of Suchitoto or relaxing on the Costa del Sol beach.
  • Opportunities to stay connected to the Thrivent Builds Worldwide El Salvador Community when you come home.

What's NOT Included in Trip Costs:

  • Airfare to San Salvador, El Salvador
  • $10 country entry visa (paid in U.S. dollars upon arrival in San Salvador)
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Personal souvenirs

Benefit of Thrivent Financial Membership

As a benefit of membership, all Thrivent Financial for Lutherans benefit members are eligible for the discounted trip cost. You are considered a Thrivent Financial benefit member if you are age 18 or older and own Thrivent Financial insurance or annuities. You also qualify if you have a Thrivent Mutual Fund account or an insurance or annuity contract issued by Thrivent Life Insurance Company.
