Typical Trip Week
Your Thrivent Builds Worldwide El Salvador Community volunteer trip week

Saturday
- Plan to arrive at the San Salvador airport around noon, where you'll be greeted at the airport by Habitat for Humanity El Salvador staff.
- Eat lunch and enjoy a local art or history museum in San Salvador.
- You'll then be transported to your hotel where you'll meet your teammates and learn the logistics of the upcoming week in a thorough orientation session.
Sunday
- You'll worship with a local Lutheran congregation.
- Following the service, you'll be welcomed and given an orientation at the hotel.
- Back at the hotel, you'll have free time and dinner.
Monday
- A full day at the build site. Enjoy a traditional Salvadoran lunch.
- Have dinner at the hotel followed by a team meeting.
Tuesday
- Morning at the build site.
- After lunch, you'll visit the families at the Villa Esperanza community – the first Thrivent Builds Worldwide El Salvador Community built!
Wednesday
- In the morning, you'll have the option of participating in an alternate community service activity like reading to children or teaching adults basic English.
- Build in the afternoon, then have dinner at the hotel followed by a team meeting.
Thursday
- A full day at the build site. Enjoy a traditional Salvadoran lunch.
- At the end of the build day, play a rousing game of soccer with masons and community members.
- Have dinner at the hotel followed by a team meeting.
Friday
- Final day at the build site.
- Enjoy a farewell lunch at the site, then do some shopping for artisan crafts.
- Have dinner at the hotel followed by a team meeting.
Saturday
- You'll experience fun, relaxation and local culture on your team's chosen activity.
Sunday
- Check out of your hotel and say your final goodbyes to El Salvador.
- Transportation is provided to the airport.
