Thrivent Lane – Families are moving in!
The Thrivent Builds Worldwide Gulf Coast Community is excited to announce that sixteen families have been assigned homes on Thrivent Lane and six of these families are currently living out in the new development in Long Beach, also known as the Trace subdivision. Some of the remaining ten families are working towards fulfilling a majority of their program requirements in order to move in under the affiliate's pre-purchase occupancy program and others are waiting for their current rental agreements to expire. It's wonderful to know that thanks to the work of TBWGCC volunteers, houses on Thrivent Lane are becoming homes for families.
Family Bio – Ms. Melissa
Among the new residents on Thrivent Lane is Ms. Melissa. Ms. Melissa is a proud mother of three children, with one on the way! After living in a rental apartment for the past thirteen years, Ms. Melissa and her family are thrilled to finally live in a stable, affordable environment. The family is incredibly grateful for the sponsors and volunteers who have donated their time and money to make its home possible.
Connor's Garden continues to grow
The construction of the first ten homes in the Connor's Garden development has been completed! Twenty-eight homes in the Gulfport neighborhood are sponsored by Thrivent Builds as part of their 2009 commitment. Work has begun on the second set of ten homes in the Gulfport subdivision. Four of the homes have currently been assigned to families, and with upcoming informational meetings, the lots should have future families assigned to them in no time! Thanks to all involved with the creation of yet another great community along the Mississippi Gulf Coast .

Make an even bigger impact - donate today
Through the Thrivent Builds Worldwide Gulf Coast Community program, Thrivent Financial members are helping 40 families to rebuild their homes - and their lives - in the Missisippi Gulf Coast. But the need is still great:
- Only 15% of the homes along the Gulf Coast destroyed by Hurricanes Rita and Katrina have been rebuilt.
- Thousands of families are still living in unsafe temporary housing.
- More than 100 families are in the pipeline, waiting for homes with Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
